LONG POST AB PLAGIARISM!!! PLS DONT SKIP 😭 this is also 1/2 !!!

hi.. this has been plaguing me for a while if I am honest .. I am too nervous to speak up about plagiarism lately mostly bc I feel as if I am being oversensitive or a narc bc I used to overreact a lot on my old blog lol and I also used to get a lot of racism/hate there and it kind of made me hesitant to call it out. plagiarism is one of the reasons I have been so writers blocked and disheartened when it comes to writing lately

usually I dm the person if the fic is not too similar but clearly inspired and ask them to give me credit which i have done a lot lately literally about 3 times in the past few days! those people all complied and added credit and one even took the fic down which I didn’t ask her to do but she did it bc she was apologetic!

I approached @acynicalsweetheart with this too! DMs are below if u can bother reading them bc there’s a lot.

she is very sweet and apologised immediately explained herself and took my point of view into mind which I appreciate a lot!! i was ok with being credited as a framework at first bc I didn’t want to be too pushy or whatever but I had only skimmed a few of her fics as I have had anons before ab it being copying but never answered bc I don’t like to name and shame without reason and also was too nervous for it which sounds stupid but sometimes I’d rather just let something pass instead of getting rape threats and racism!

I was genuinely at first under the impression that it was only a few fics however I asked some of my friends n mutuals if I was overreacting but they said that this is def valid and most of all it’s upsetting to see mutuals, people who read my fics praise work that is legit my fics patched together.. like I know when someone hasn’t written a fic it’s hard for them to see the plagiarism but it hurts my feelings that a style I’ve been working on for so long could be emulated so easy.. I was ok with the credit but like then I read more and more and it became clear to me that the plagiarism is so.. like there’s so much you could mistake the fics as mine and I completely understand inspo but this is just straight up plagiarism and I wished I had called it out beforehand I feel like I have been kind by simply asking for credit or if she would make a post admitting to it bc I know that these huge callout posts only lead to hate and like blocks and it isn’t always fair but like this is just likes on fics that r reworkings of mine and my fics patched together

my fic starts with leon talking about hunnigan, he steps out of work and it’s raining. fraise’s fic starts like that too. the left is mine right is fraise… OFC it doesn’t seem too overly the same but like the mention of the vintage leather jacket being ruined by weather? 😭 what r the odds and it’s like a lot of this I wouldn’t note as overtly copying if the rest of their fics weren’t also taking on a similar pattern to mine

then it keeps going on and my fic is ab Leon feeling guilty ab fucking his bunny hybrid.. that’s what fraise’s is ab again.. nothing too insane like hybrids and guilt r common in fics LOL but like again.. copied from lovey dovey is just this section rewritten

and then there’s a part in my fic rotten luck where as Leon fucks reader he remembers the Latin prayer his mom taught him. And he remembers it slowly as he fucks reader and again it would be nothing of note but with the rest of the copied content ?? and btw tjis is just small snippets like if u read both fics side by side it’s insane how similar they are but fraise’s fic is just lovey dovey and Somebunny mixed together

there’s also little things like Claire using terrasave to save hybrids that I made up in my fic that fraise also uses whixh again!! would genuinely be nothing of note but it’s as if my characterisation of Leon, how I see him interact with other characters has just been taken, Like I know it’s dumb but I loveee to build my own views on how Leon interacts w Claire ashley and hunnigan and whoever and to see it be taken .. almost word for word is like? I just don’t get how someone could even take headcanons and the way a fanfic author. Characterises rather than building their own views on the source material and it’s not like I mind any of this but it’s the plagiarism that gets me 😭 I don’t want this to be taken as me upset somebody is inspired by this work or whatnot im upset that it’s plagiarism ! this is a smaller one but it’s still? so similar .. the first is fraise and the second mine

and I also wanted to give the benefit of the doubt and be like theyre not doing this on purpose and they were genuinely inspired but a lot of this is just purposely taken from my fics and reworded to sound different and it would be ok if it was a couple lines but the whole fic?? and a lot of it is done cleverly enough that it looks like im reaching to find things to nitpick on but I do this a lot in fics.. I cycle through what Leon thinks characters are going to think of him for doing something awful I have done this in two parts of rotten luck.. I have done it in Somebunny loves you and lovey dovey and even just certain descriptions are taken from like parts of strictly business (chris sounding and looking constipated LOL) and carefully pieced together to create some Frankenstein of my fic instead of just writing ??? like surely that would be easier

the other fic which is very similar to my fic softer softest is fraise’s fic love is a losing game! mine is about curly coming home after a long trip and fraise’s is ab curly about to leave this the opening passages of both.. and again if u read the fics side by side u will so many more similarities rhese two fics r also fraise’s original ones where as the ones that are requests tend to differ from my writing? so it’s like your two original fics are just copies of mine but a little different 😭 The first two screenshots r mine the third is fraise’s fic

on my tumblr I actually made an upset post ab this and then legit 5 mins later I was credited so it’s not like they don’t understand what they have done and I do appreciate the credit ?? but 😭

Hello, Anon! I'm sorry I'm just now seeing this. My account does not like to show me when I have stuff in my inbox. I've got a few things in the works, mostly requests ATM. The one that I'm closest to posting is a Robby fic. I'm starting to lean away from reader stuff and work with OCs. It's a request for Robby and his partner becoming parents. I might turn it into a series, a short one. Anyway, here's a snippet!

The Pitt was having a relatively quiet day, though no one would say those exact words. They were all just enjoying the peace. Robby had to break up a few people from gossiping in corners, the downtime poisoning their efficiency just a bit. He couldn’t be too mad, though; they never had days like this.

“When’s your paternity start?” Dana asked from her computer.

“I have been told by the boss that it starts when contractions start.” Robby sighed, his glasses sitting low on his nose.

“Gloria said that?” Dana looked up at him, shocked.

“Nope. Kit. She doesn’t want me bothering her. Thinks I’ll go stir crazy.” He said as he typed up his charts.

“Smart woman.” Dana laughed.

“I tried to get her to let me start today, but she’s too fucking virtuous. Doesn’t want to put bad luck on us and all that shit.”

“She’s trying to keep you an honest man. Tough job.” Dana jotted down notes on her tablet.

“I told her babies love being born during full moons and tonight is a full moon, but she didn’t take the bait.”  Robby scratched at the back of his neck.

“It’s a fair point. But have you stopped to think, maybe she’s trying to enjoy her last moments of autonomy?” Dana raised her eyebrows at him.

“What?” Robby pulled his glasses off.

“Think about it. Once this baby is born, there will be a person attached to her all day, every day for the foreseeable future. She will be someone’s mom before anything else. Maybe she wants to revel in still being somewhat her own person. That’s why she wants you out of the house.” Dana leaned back in her chair.

“I guess I never thought about it like that.” Robby crossed his arms, brows knitted together as he took in the information.

“Just make sure she knows, you’re going to give her space once the baby is born. Remind her that she’ll be your wife too, not just mom.” Dana gave a empathetic smile.

“Yeah, thanks.” Robby nodded.

“Um, Dr. Robby I need some help with a case in bay 4. I-I can’t get the discharge to stop.” Whitacker came running up, gloved hands held high in the air.

“let’s start by not leaving the patient with discharge seeping out of them, pressure dressing now. Go.” Robby sighed.

“Go easy, Cap. Shifts almost over. You can handle one more hour.” Dana laughed.

Ooo, question just came to mind. How did the whole polycule come to be? I know you said they get together after everything and after N and Uzi are already dating, but how did they agree to the whole thing? Because I can imagine Uzi feeling quite conflicted about V's flirting and wanting to check in with N about the whole thing.

This was kinda a question I had for myself as well since I'm writing a fic with Nuziv in mind but I wanted to see how your version goes down, since the one I have planned has radically different timing.

to be fair you ask "how did they agree to the whole thing" when they hardly thought about anything at all 😭

V simply decided one day that if she was gonna be dealing with Uzi every day she might as well make it more enjoyable for herself too- the teasing and jabs became less and less coated in malice and they started to joke around more and even agree on things [never a good sign in Ns honest opinion 😭] and after a while it turned into playfights and joke flirting and then just flat out flirting.

this process didnt just happen with Uzi, it also went along with N. just a bit differently i guess, just like how i showed you in the previous snippet on N and V arguing lol. N started feeling jealous but not because of V STEALING Uzi or anything, V just silently challenges him to one up her all the time and they kinda got stuck in this loop of who could make Uzi more pleased.

after a while, im guessing maybe in a cuddle pile after N and Uzi forced V into, they all just kinda sorta thought like "wow, well shit. i really cant live without them..." and they unofficially decided they are all together. it didnt have a name for a long time until they were actually ready to be closer and admit they liked eachother romantically. but that was more of a thing to be said to set boundries and make it official. otherwise as far as flirting goes, they had been doing it subconciously for a long time lololololol-

I take down MovieFlame video (Morgan Ross) In Defense of Snape

I found a video in my YouTube feed that deals with a comparison between Snape and James and who was worse, now we know well that this clash has been going on for years and I don't think it will ever stop. The beauty of fandom is also the fact of being able to explore the subtexts, give personal interpretations and compare with other fans. So I don't want you to understand my intervention as a declaration of war against one side or the other. Whether you are supporters of Snape or James we must be honest and say that what we know through the canon is partial. We know many things, but not enough objective. James Potter is a character that we see only through the memories of a person and that is told to us. It is unfair to judge a person just by hearsay. So the comparison between Snape who appears in all the saga, and James who died in the time of the story is an unequal comparison.

My annoyance, however, comes from the certainty with which some fans, often Marauders stan (although not always) maintain that James was better than Snape. They assert it forcefully but when you dig deeper you realize that they have no solid evidence. If we don't know enough to judge James negatively then we don't have enough evidence to consider him better than Snape either. We can't have double standards on this. Either we know or we don't know. For this reason I usually avoid embarking on a comparison like this, but it is James' fans who first started, for years, to throw mud at Snape and to justify their hatred towards the character. They started comparing him to James, elevating the latter as a hero based on the little information we have. So let's move on to specifically dismantling this video, which reports most of the points that are brought up by James' defenders. (for fairness I invite you to watch the original video HERE, so you can get a personal and balanced idea) The first point brought up in the video is this:

“it's true that James bullied Snape when they were kids which wasn't right but Snape took part in this rivalry as well oftentimes going after James but people just conveniently forget that”

I would like to point out that the first part, absolutely correct, which admits that James bullied Severus, admitting that this was wrong, is followed by a BUT as big as a house. Bullying is always wrong, it doesn't matter if the victim is a good person or not, I've already discussed this point other times but I will never tire of repeating it. If you think that bullying is less serious because the victim is someone you don't like then you are blaming the victim. And this is what many fans have been doing for years. First they try to minimize the seriousness of what James (and Sirius) does, then they justify it until they deny it by claiming that it wasn't bullying. And in the first minutes of the video this is exactly what the boy tries to do.

Snape took part in this rivalry as well oftentimes going after James

Again, attention to detail, the linguistic choice, first he admitted that James was a bully and now he is instead very subtly invalidating the first part by saying that it was a rivalry, because Snape also attacked James. This means that either the first part of the sentence is false or this one is and let's look at the facts. How do we know that this thing happened? In which case in the canon are we ever shown Snape attacking James? In none, because as I said at the beginning we know little about James, we only see snippets of his life, of his attitude and then we are told what he was like by his best friends, boys who even as adults justified his bullying. How can they be reliable? The fact that Snape attacked James is not shown to us, it is only told to us and by Sirius and Remus in the fifth book, after Harry has spied on Snape's memories in which he sees James and Sirius attacking him for no reason in the worst memory. (and don't try, memories in the Harry Potter world are objective, not emotionally modified) Sirius and Remus explain to Harry how Lily started dating James, the two say that James toned down a bit in seventh year and stopped hexing people just for fun. And when Harry asks if James stopped attacking Snape, Remus says this:

"Well," said Lupin thoughtfully, "Snape was a special case. I mean, he never missed an opportunity to curse James, so it was only natural that he would react..." (Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix)

This is the only part used by the Marauders Stan to justify James. The subtext is clear, James stopped cursing his classmates, but not Snape because he had to defend himself. But this is simply a reversal, James has heavily bullied Snape for years, and this is canon, but if Snape defended himself and responded to the attacks according to James' defenders this makes him on par with James. In short, if a victim rebels, he is no longer a victim according to them. While on the contrary, after years of heavy bullying, if Snape attacks James and James responds then Gryffindor is the poor victim who in short has the right to defend himself? Because James was everything Snape wanted to be: popular, ace at Quidditch… ace at pretty much everything. This is an opinion of Sirius, James's best friend. He lists things that he considers essential, being popular, an ace at Quidditch. Things that Snape has never cared about. When did Snape ever try to be popular? When did he ever care about Quidditch? The truth is that Snape hated James because from the first train ride James was hateful to him, insulting the Slytherin house that Snape hoped to end up in. James butted into the conversation between him and Lily and already on the train James and Sirius started calling him Snivellus and tripped him up. If James continues to attack Snape then he hasn't understood his mistakes, he has only learned to hide them. If he had really matured he wouldn't have hidden it from Lily, if he had really been the victim in his last year he could have told Lily and instead he doesn't. Shortly after the boy in the video confidently states that James has changed since in his last year Dumbledore makes him Head Boy. And this simply doesn't make sense, why should Dumbledore's judgment be a moral compass to judge James? I don't know if you realize this but every time someone tries to show how good a person James was you have to go on trust with weak assumptions:

-Lily started dating him so he got better. - Dumbledore made him head boy so he matured. - Lily married him so he was good.

These are all assumptions with big gaps. Dumbledore also gave Remus the Prefect badge in the hope that he would keep his friends at bay and we saw how it went, it didn't help. The boy in the video brings up a very interesting point, many people who were bullied as teenagers feel empathy for Snape and understand what he felt, but the video states that no, it can't be the same thing, because someone who is bullied in real life doesn't plan for years to join a group of assassins, such as the Death Eaters. On this point I can see the logic, but saying that you understand a character, that you feel empathy for him, maybe even because it reflects a personal experience in a small way does not mean justifying his mistakes. Understanding and justifying are two very different concepts. I rationally understand Snape's actions, but on many occasions I don't agree with them. Fortunately, most people who are bullied have not joined violent groups, but that is not an absolute. The world is complex, people react differently to trauma and yes, unfortunately in reality there are victims who have joined violent groups. The classic phrase "the abused becomes the abuser" must not become a way to justify wrong actions, but as I said before it is a way to rationally understand situations.

Bullying someone, even a bad person, is never justifiable for this reason too. What you trigger in the victim is a sense of helplessness and anger. Feelings that in the worst case can lead a person down dangerous paths. Those who understand this understand how strong she was when she was young, how difficult it was to remain a good person. The saga teaches us clearly, you have to choose between what is right and what is easy. But I breathed a sigh of relief when the boy in the video said with clear feeling that he was sorry for all the people who were bullied because they didn't deserve it. FALSE, I know exactly where this idea comes from and it's so tiring to have to repeat the same things over and over again. Snape never attacked or cursed any of his fellow muggleborns. This is a simplification of the speech, the bullying that Snape suffered is not the reason why he joined the Death Eaters but it is one of the reasons, not the only one but one of the. The difference is clear. If Snape had not been bullied and marginalized, if he had been able to live the Howarts years in peace with his best friend he would not have felt the need to be accepted by the future Death Eaters. Mind you I'm not saying that he would not have been attracted to them, his childhood experiences, the violent Muggle father would have remained, but with a positive contrast and a part of the "good" who defends him and helps him he would have been much less inclined to approach the Death Eaters. But we know that with the if you don't make history, it went as it went, but pretending that the bullying suffered did not play any role means denying reality. As well as trying to make it less serious than it is.

When we then go to compare the more "adult" versions the discussion becomes even more partial because we know even less about the first war. The fact that James joined the Order as I have reiterated several times is not a sign of maturation, he has always been against the dark arts and not by choice. His parents were against it, as they were against the purist ideology. He did not have to rebel, he simply adapted to the ideals that were fortunately right. Could he ever not have been interested in the war? Actually not since his wife was a target because she was Muggle-born and shortly after his son too. It is not a sign of maturation and if I may say so, not even of who knows what reasoning. Even Peter Pettigrew joined the Order, what does this prove?

The whole next part is based on pointing out that if Snape hadn't told Voldemort the prophecy, the Potters would be alive, but once again what ifs lead nowhere. If Snape hadn't eavesdropped on the prophecy and told Voldemort, the events that led to his destruction wouldn't have been triggered and we would never have had the saga. Drama is the engine of events. In the narrative fiction, Snape was reporting important information to his boss, he didn't torture or attack anyone, he just passed on information without knowing what it would lead to. What's the point of blaming him for what follows? Do we use the same reasoning for all the other characters in the saga? I don't think so, so let's not waste too much time on it.

I have often spoken about this and it is always the same story, couldn't Snape ask for mercy also for Harry who was Voldemort's main target and poor James? Why would Snape have cared about the boy who made his life hell? Snape dared to ask for mercy for Lily and to be sure he also went to Dumbledore risking his life. Allying himself with Dumbledore is a clear betrayal towards Voldemort, if he had been discovered he would have been killed. And I would like to remind you that Snape is terrified of Dumbledore at this point in the story, so much so that as soon as he sees Dumbledore appear he begs him not to kill him Dumbledore is then disgusted by what exactly? From his interpretation of events. Dumbledore thinks that Snape wants Lily all for himself. How distorted is this thing? It is disturbingly similar to what Voldemort thinks. Snape doesn't want Lily, he just wants her to be spared and is so panicked that he asks Dumbledore for help.

Ehm, no? Snape couldn't know that the prophecy was referring to a child, the prophecy is not clear, it is only said that whoever has the power to defeat Voldemort approaches. Approaches does not necessarily mean is about to be born.

I also approached the supermarket checkout yesterday to pay, I wasn't born in front of it. Snape learned that the prophecy referred to a child, Harry, only after Voldemort interpreted it that way. As soon as he learned that it referred to him and therefore Lily, he was activated. (and for those who pretend not to understand cause and effect, Snape's request to spare Lily is what allowed Lily's sacrifice to take effect)

James died protecting his family, true great thing he risked his life to try to protect the ones he loved. Commendable. Snape risked his life to protect the ones he loved by starting to snitch on silent after silent made it clear to him that he was disgusted by him and was clearly trying to use him. He risked his life for years. Disturbing.

Really Morgan? Is unrequited love pathetic? I've had friends confess to having a crush on me and even though I didn't reciprocate I never thought they were pathetic. A relationship like that, as turbulent as you want, wasn't questioned until Lily was insulted, she and Severus had been BEST FRIENDS for years. She had doubts about Avery and Mulciber and exposed them to Snape of course but she never questioned Snape until her worst memory.

Can I remind you that even Peter Pettigrew was considered heroic because he faced Sirius until he lost his life against him? At least in public opinion. Whoever dies in war becomes a hero, wow what news.

Snape became a teacher at Hogwarts spending his days bullying children as an adult people fault James for bullying a kid when he was a kid but Snape bullied innocent children as a grown man there was no excuse for that no matter how hard you were bullied.

Ah here we are, the comparison out of scale. James is dead so he is a hero, Snape survived, the comparison should stop there, you can't make a comparison between a dead person and a living person. Snape treats some students badly? Absolutely yes and I have already spoken about it. Is it unfair? Absolutely yes, but what does this prove? You see him getting closer, right?

The point is simple, James was a bully (so at least he admits he was) but as a boy, teenager against teenager, while Snape (bad guy) takes it out on children. What is there to do with it? first James is a bully, then he isn't, then in reality it's a rivalry, then he still was but he matured and Snape still deserved it and the thesis changes again, James was a bully but less serious because he took it out on those his own age. All aimed at downplaying James's faults. But he is totally blind to the evidence, even at the same age James always took it out on those who were lower than him, he attacked classmates (not just Snape) in numerical superiority 2 against 1, in superiority of magical ability, in superiority of status, he was popular and the others were not. by Sirius' own admission many turned a blind eye when they did these things. Where would the equality be?

But hey the video doesn't end there, everything that is brought up after that is already tired and hackneyed points, Snape bullied the students? I talked about it HERE. Snape was Neville's Boggart I also talked about this HERE. Then he goes on to say that Snape treated Harry badly in the first lesson because he still hates James and also the fact that Snape saved Harry's life in the first book doesn't count because he didn't do it to atone for his guilt but because he had a suspicious account with James, because he had a life debt since James saved him from The Prank.

But guess what? This is a supposition of Dumbledore who in order not to reveal the truth to Harry says this thing but it is HIS SUPPOSITION. I understand that Dumbledore is wise and knowledgeable but he really is not the omniscient narrator, not everything he says is true and we know it well. Snape feels guilty and tries to atone as he can. Invalidating his commitment to saving Harry is absurd and unfair.

Ok there is only one thing I can agree with here, Snape is immature in some ways, he is in his early 30s and has some immature attitudes. but selfish? he sacrificed his life to fight voldemort, he gave up everything, he risked himself over and over again to protect Harry and not only that. This is disturbing, the fact that you thought about it. xD This is just a rather sick assumption by some fans, disturbed on multiple levels but with no basis in canon.

Snape may have died a brave man but he also died as a man who brought nothing but harm to the world.

If Snape had died during the first war, you mean? Well, he certainly wouldn't have been considered a hero because he wasn't one yet. Really, what kind of nonsense reasoning is that? If James had died at 14, he wouldn't have been remembered as he is remembered in the canon for fighting Voldemort. But thanks to Zeus, it's obvious. Snape becomes a hero later, and is remembered as such for this, just like James. The fact that James was a bully doesn't erase his merit in fighting Voldemort, but the opposite is also true, merits don't erase guilt. This also applies to Snape, his guilt doesn't erase merits and his merits don't erase his guilt.

Evil again, I would like to understand why, but obviously it doesn't go any further, because all the things listed are just a constant invalidation of Piton's merits and belittling his suffering. even here, when for the umpteenth time he retracts on the bullying he suffered he ends up saying that the bullying he suffered only brought out that part of him but it was always there.

And to justify all this it is precisely the James Stans who have started this unequal comparison that they are always destined to lose, in which they compare a complete character with one who only appeared in past scenes.

Favourite Dressrosa Sanji moments

I know Sanji wasn't present for most of Dressrosa but as usual he absolutely stole the show for me the 5% of time that he was on screen :

(1) When the strawhats were striking a deal with doflamingo, Law didn't specify how many ppl he could bring to the rendezvous point, and sanji was quick to point it out, as usual thinking ahead. He knew what the stakes were in this fight and that they couldn't just waltz into green bit and have a fair exchange with a corrupt warlord. anxious paranoid king but absolutely justified

(2) i absolutely loved all of sanji's interactions with viola. But i loved it the most when he could tell viola wasn't lying just from her body language and expressions alone. That's typical extremely perceptive and emotionally intelligent sanji for you.

(3) another viola sanji moment when she peaks inside his mind and all she sees is sensual stuff. Viola really said he horny but he honest 😭

(4) ofc my favourite lawsan moment when the strawhats were eating sandwiches and Law said that he hates breads so sanji serves rice cakes for him. Adding in a cute little snippet from an SBS where Oda says that Law threw another fit cz one of the onigiris had umeboshi (pickled plum) inside, the sillies!!

(5) sanji cutting momo's sandwiches smaller and serving a kid's meal for him

(6) sanji's kind and nurturing nature showing up when the team was with momonosuke for only a few days but sanji noticed how momo only turns into a dragon when he is distressed and can't control his emotions.

Kris laughs and throws a napkin at him, which flutters uselessly across the table before dropping short. “That’s disgusting,” he says. “Don’t eat with your mouth full.” Cooper grins unrepentantly the best he can with almost a whole sushi roll in his mouth. Kris groans but he looks near on impossibly fond.) (“Should we get dessert?” Addy posits, eyeing off Cooper warily. “Sure,” he says, enthusiastically. Bronwyn shakes her head at my side, amazed. Kris shifts awkwardly. “I don’t like American cake,” he qualifies. Nate gives him a look. “The fuck is ‘American cake’?” He laughs. “It’s just…you guys use a lot of sugar. Like, a lot. It’s too much. I don’t like it.” Addy shakes her head in disgust. “You don’t like cake!” “American cake!” he argues back, as if it matters.)

Kris tilts his head. He’s a little red. “Sorry, could you say it again, slowly? I can’t-“ He’s bright red now. He always gets embarrassed when he can’t pronounce a word in English, which is insane to me. I can’t pronounce words in English.

Bronwyn says it again, slowly. Then she shrugs. “It’s a hard word.”

“Four?” I repeat, incredulously. “What?”

“Yes,” he says, like it’s not a big deal. “Obviously English and German.”

“Yeah,” I encourage.

“And my grandparents on my mom’s side are Dutch, so we spoke Dutch with them. It’s quite similar to German, anyway.”

Addy’s eyebrows are raising higher on her forehead with every language mentioned.

“Then I learnt Spanish in school.” Kris shrugs.

“You’re terrifying,” Addy tells him, sincerely. “Can you speak them all equally?”

“Oh, god no.” Kris laughs. “German is my first language, and I still think mostly in German, and if I had a choice, I would speak in German all the time. Then I’m probably next best in English, since I have to speak it all the time. Then Dutch because I learnt it so young. Spanish,” he hesitates. “I’m okay, but it’s definitely my worst.”

“Can I speak to you in Spanish?” Maeve asks, enthusiastically.

Kris nods, laughing. “Sure, if you go slow.”

I blink at him. “Do you believe in astrology?”

He doesn’t really strike me as the type.

And apparently I’m correct, as he snorts and shakes his head. “No,” he whispers. “But I do believe in annoying Cooper, and nothing gets to him faster.”

Cooper sinks down in front of us, fixing Kris with an annoyed look. “Stars can’t decide your personality, that’s such bullshit.”

Kris glances sideways at me, as if to say “told you so”, and smiles patronisingly are Cooper, patting his hand. “It’s okay, baby. You just don’t understand.”

kris’s family have a tradition where they compete to try and order the ugliest birthday cakes (bonus points if it’s unintentionally poorly made) it starts after his dad accidentally orders an awful cake for his mother for her birthday and they all end hp laughing so hard over the cake that it becomes a tradition every year to try and top it. the first time cooper goes to kris’s house for his birthday, kris does not share this tradition with him, so cooper (very very politely) tries to choke out some compliments about the incredibly ugly & falling apart cake that his mom has ordered, assuming that she has baked it herself. kris’s whole family dies laughing and kris has to explain it to him

and finally - how my AU glitch wouldve ended

fall part one: pov: kris, addy. cooper and kris begin dating, he tells luis and addy. everything seems fine for a while, though kris becomes aware of someone following him, he tells cooper who is very uncomfortable and thinks someone is onto their secrets. kris offers that they just stay at his apartment and not see each other in public anymore which upsets cooper, and they talk about going public. addy realises that jake has not forgiven her, though he has been getting back to normal with her and overhears a very angry conversation between him and Simon about whether to continue with “plans”. Simon becomes increasingly unstable. She discusses it with Bronwyn, and after one party where Nate kisses Keely, Simon blows up at him, threatening to spill all his secrets and “make him regret everything” at school, causing Bronwyn to get involved and yell at Simon about Leah and Maeve. Simon swears he’ll get them back “one way or another”.

fall part two: pov: cooper. Cooper realizes that Simon won’t stop staring at him, and tells Addy that he thinks he’s planning something, leading her to tell him about the Nate incident. He talks to Nate and finds out it was about Keely. He freaks out and Nate tells him not to worry bc even if Simon goes after him, there’s nothing that he could say bc cooper’s so perfect. in a fit of panic, he comes out to Nate, who promptly swears and promises that they’ll work out what Simon is planning to stop anything like that from happening. They get together in a little group, inviting Kris. Bronwyn says that she let Simon borrow her phone the other week, when he claimed his died. Kris tells them to report everything they know to the police. Bronwyn freaks out and says they can’t, leading her to admit that she cheated and that’s why Simon hates her. Kris says that he’s really uncomfortable and doesn’t trust Simon, and that he’ll do anything to protect Cooper so if it comes down to it, he’ll tell on Bronwyn. Nate yells at him, and he and Bronwyn have a moment until Cooper says that he’s not letting anything happen to any of them “You’re protecting my secret now, right? So I’m protecting yours.” They enlist Maeve to hack into Simon’s computer where they find out he plans to poison Addy, Kris, and Cooper, and frame Bronwyn, Nate (for supplying the drugs) and Jake for Addy’s death (who he hates for backing down from the plan) then kill himself. They go to the police, who go to arrest Simon, but he’s already dead. Cooper, Addy and Kris go home, where they find respective gifts of their favorite foods on their doorstops. They send photos to the group chat, and Bronwyn responds with a corresponding purchase from her bank account.

For me,

Kim and Chay both love each other so much.

I'm very fond of couples who actually see each other. like, in a way that others don't. And yeah, we all know that Chay sees a side of kim not many, if anyone, does.

But I also think Chay shows an honest and true side of himself to only Kim, and that Kim offers just as much to the relationship as Chay does.

It's hard to tell in those little snippets of life we see after the "break up", but like.

Chay is a very lonely person. I know it's the common fanon that chay is popular and has all the friends and skills, but I honestly could see him being just as lonely as say, kinn or kim. Porsche is the outgoing one we see being social. all the times we see chay with people/friends, he's more quiet and reserved. I'd wager he has one friend (the one went with him to the open house and later we see doing his hair / out with this dudes friends vs chay's friends)

And Kim eases that loneliness just as much. And Kim takes care of him --- the polaroids paint a picture of him spoiling him with experiences Chay has never had--because he's been broke and on a scholarship so always studying.

Because so much of Kimchay can be hidden from the viewer, it's so easy to say that Chay is the only one who gave of himself, or offers something to Kim--

But I truly don't think that's fair to the characterization of a beautiful show. Kim gave *everything* he could to chay, to the point of getting back into a life he hated and had successfully escaped from (murder board aside) , just to keep Chay safe.

He allowed Chay to have a whole other home and life outside of Porsche. He eased Chay's worries and offered him comfort. Even when he was trying to investigate porsche and Chay, he was trying to be fair about it--snacks, offering up his own name to make the status quo even.

Remember the Wik shrine smile? Kim wasn't judgy, and he was always patient with chay.

Kim's capacity to love and change chay is equal to chay's capacity to love and change chay. I think they truly saw each other and healed each other. It wasn't one sided, not the love and not the affect that had on each other.

Going to be honest, the biggest reason I have been working on NFL Buck so much is because my favorite team (Kansas City Chiefs) has been doing very well in the playoffs. So fair warning, if they don't make it to the Super Bowl after this Sunday, writing for that fic will probably taper off and I'll switch to another. But until then, here is another snippet from NFL Buck and I'm hopping back to the end of the dosed arc. (All things NFL Buck can be found here)

Eddie gives him a nod of encouragement and Buck takes a deep breath, then releases it along with the majority of his nerves. He turns his full attention to Athena, her head still cocked with curiosity and her eyes gleaming with intrigue. Buck saw no hint of malice and with a squeeze to his hand from Eddie, his tongue finally loosened, "Eddie and I met when I was still in college. He was one of the paramedics on hand when I was knocked unconscious by a cheap shot from an Aggy. When I came to, Eddie was hovering above me and I literally thought he was an angle." Buck chuckles, remembering the moment his eyes opened and seeing the most beautiful man with the softest brown eyes surrounded by a halo of lights. "That was the concussion." Eddie snarks, but Buck can see the light blush on his boyfriend's cheeks from the corner of his vision. After all these years and Eddie still gets flustered by Buck's enamored compliments. "Well despite the head injury, I had a very hard time forgetting him and I tracked his fine ass down at our next home game. Asked him to dinner, and besides a few bumps along the way, here we are almost ten years later." Buck finishes and flashes a small smile towards Eddie, who returns it.

"And you've kept your relationship hidden all this time?" Athena questions sounding mildly impressed, but also a little sad. Buck deflates slightly, he always does when the whole secret part of his and Eddie's relationship is brought up. "We had to, or I had to. By the time Eddie came into my life, I had put in so much work and sacrifice to be where I was. I had dreamed of playing in the NFL since I was little and football was my greatest love at the time. But I also knew that the world I wanted to be apart of wasn't the most accepting of those who don't fit in the typical heteronormative box. Being an open bi-sexual man would lessen my opportunities and could have put my mental and physical health at risk. So I stayed closeted." "Yet you made the decision to pursue a same sex relationship." He gives the police sergeant a wistful smile, "The moment I met Eddie, I felt this amazing connection and then after our first non-date date, I knew I couldn't let him go, football career be damned." Buck looks over at the man who's held his heart since he walked though Red's door, "Eddie is the one person I know will always have my back and he knows I will always have his. He has never made me choose between my childhood dream and my future ones with him and Christopher." Eddie's warm brown eyes soften through Buck's declaration and the gleam of his adoration only brightens. The hand intertwined with Buck's squeezes three times and Buck squeezes back with the same iteration. Hidden I love you's that have no lesser value than visible one's. "I don't want Buck to lose one of the biggest parts of who he is because of bigots. And I don't see hiding our relationship as a sacrifice. Loving Buck isn't a hardship and part of that love is wanting to see him happy. Playing in the NFL makes him happy. Being with me and Christopher makes him happy. He makes me happy. A few lies and secretes aren't going to diminish that." Eddie states his gaze unwavering on Buck and his chest fills tender warmth at Eddie's proclamation.

Their relationship may be a secret but its real and true. Hope you all enjoyed!

Monday Snippet

I was tagged by @my-castles-crumbling, and I am currently working on a sequel to my vampire snack... so here we are.

Sirius was waiting, with clenched jaw and fists. He didn't relax when Severus entered either, something that hurt, though it was understandable. The other vampire had used his face far too often to rely on looks alone now. To make it easier, more comfortable for Sirius, Severus went slow, sitting on the chair farthest from the bed, breathing slowly as he thought about a way to reassure Sirius that indeed he was the person he wanted to see. If he still did. But before he could, Sirius made his move. “Tell me about Harry.” Severus scoffed. “With all due respect, Sirius – while our relationship took a turn to the better, the brat is still much himself – and I couldn't afford to befriend him, if I wanted.” It was probably not the wisest answer, but the most honest one. Sirius seemed to know that too. He relaxed some, though he had a second question. “When did I come back from Azkaban and how?” “That's what I would like to know, honestly... but it was a year before the Triwizards' tournament, if I remember it right.” This time Sirius chuckled and his eyes softened. “Will... you come closer? Please?” Severus had no easy smile, but this time something tucked a the corners of his mouth relentlessly, as he rose and settled on the bedside, allowing Sirius' fingers to intertwine with his. “What happened?” “He...” Sirius stared into the darkness of his mind, trying to figure out what to say, and it felt painful. Severus wished he could have spared him, and the sentiment still felt strange. It hadn't been too long ago that no pain seemed to harsh a punishment for the bane of his past. “He... bound me. With his blood. Compelled me. Tried to vanish our bond. In time he might. We have to stop him.” He looked so desperate, so lost, and it hurt. Once again the wave of protective anger surprised Severus. He still underestimated how fond one could grow of their thralls. Though to be fair at this point it was delusional to blame it only on that. “He can't break our bond.” He squeezed Sirius' hands and carefully caressed the fingertips. “It's no longer my blood. If it was...” He shivered. “He is older, far more powerful. His blood is so much more potent. I couldn't compete.” But Sirius loved him. There was no other explanation. “What do we do?” “Do you remember anything?” Sirius took his good time, which was just as well. Better he thought about it and found something. “Very little. He kept me locked up. Used me as... food. Kept me just barely alive.”

Sunday Snippet (but from earlier in the week)

Before I continue doing my adult chores, I’m also going to post a little bit of fic I worked on earlier this week. No use sighing over how I wish there was more fic in my fandom about my favorite characters if I myself do not take time to create fic about my favorite characters!

This comes from my canon divergence where Sara and August meet up two years prior to canon, although this part is only about Sara. She’s just turned sixteen, so she’s a little more wide-eyed and innocent.

The atmosphere at Hillerska is different from Bjärstad schools. Sara is used to maneuvering around skateboards and soccer kits, hockey hoodies and heckling and chemically cheap vapes. Those haven’t disappeared entirely, but the squash rackets, jodhpurs, and fencing foils mixed in among the crowd make all the difference. Even the heels of the students’ shoes have a sharper sound as they hit the pavement. 

Sara has prepared herself for Hillerska’s lush grounds and manorial architecture by browsing the school website and scrolling through the #hillisar tag on Instagram. She arches her neck and gazes up at the windows on the top story, imagining another version of herself on the other side of the glass, snuggled up with a heavy hardcover on a drizzly day. Maybe a book that’s translated from Greek or Latin. It’s a loan from one of Sara’s teachers, a fascinating woman who spent her twenties roaming the world and who now records her thoughts in unpublished poems. She’s fair with the entire class, but her comments on Sara’s essays are always warm and encouraging.

In Sara’s fantasy, she bookmarks her book with a blue—no, burgundy—silk ribbon given to her by a roommate, and notes that it’s stopped raining outdoors. Perfect, she’ll go and visit her horse. Of course it isn’t her horse on paper. Even in Sara’s imagination, she could never afford one of her own. Rather, the horse was donated to the school by a hapless alum who found it too temperamental to work with. Sara understands it and has won its trust, and the other girls breathe sighs of admiration over the progress she’s made.

The color and name of Sara’s horse changes from daydream to daydream. Today she’s a Palomino mare called Ilmatar, with a gleaming golden coat. Sara imagines herself brushing Ilmatar’s coat and patting her muzzle as she confides in her about her classes.

Sara’s visions are interrupted when her phone vibrates in her schoolbag. Cupping her hands around her phone case—no one needs to see the scratches, or how out of date her phone is—she reads the text from Simon. 

Where are you? I thought you were taking the bus home with me and Ayub.

Of course. Ever since last year, when Simon finally got taller than her, he’s worried about her more. If Sara’s honest with herself, it’s a bit annoying. She’s planned ahead for this.

Library, she types in response. Maybe it won’t even be a lie, if she finds a way to see the Hillerska library when she’s here. Back in time for dinner.

She doesn’t mention that she cut the last two classes of the day to get to Hillerska early. Simon doesn’t need to know.

Reading etiquette manuals again? Simon asks. Or is it the horse girl books?

He’s teasing now. Sara minds less when it’s just him, and not him and Mamma together. They’re always smiling closed-mouth smiles in one another’s direction, and Sara’s brain comes up with the worst ideas for what they mean by it. She responds with shut up and an emoji that shows she’s teasing back, before switching her phone to silent and slipping it back into her bag.

When Sara looks up again, she’s being watched. Three boys, all older than her, and an older girl with long, auburn hair.

“Excuse me,” one of the guys says. He’s got mirrored sunglasses resting on his head that don’t seem to fit the cold weather. “Are you someone’s cousin?”

“She isn’t someone’s cousin,” says another. This one’s wearing a watch that looks more like it’s for adult businessmen than a teenager. “She looks lost. Can we help you?”

“Yes.” Sara straightens her spine in an effort to look taller. “I’m looking for the principal’s office.”

“Oho.” The guy with the watch smirks. “Are you in trouble, then?”

“No. I have some questions about admissions.” Admissions, like it says on the website. Sara’s proud of herself for putting it that way. “I’m Sara. Sara Eriksson.”

I just want to show some love to one of my all time favorite author, and their amazing fics that I love. My favorite is magnum opus that's why I asked about it. Your writing is addictingly awesome! With so much hurt, doubt and uncertainty. And I love how you write Tomura, how you write him so blunt and straightforward yet caring. This one is much harder to answer than I thought it would be! To be totally honest, my favorite fic to get comments on is whichever one I just posted/updated. But I'm happy with any comments, always!

Absolutely! Whenever I get a spare second, if I'm being honest.

🏅 What is something you recently felt proud of in regard to your writing (finished a fic, actually planned for once, etc).

I was actually really proud of how (secret) santa, baby turned out! I'm sure you've seen my endless complaining about how I can't write short fics, so I wanted to see if I could write a short fic (and write it as I was posting it rather than trying to finish the entire thing). I ended up not overthinking it and having a lot of fun anyway.

This is from a time loop fic I've been working on based on a prompt from @deadhands69!

Tenko’s done this enough times by now to know that the story doesn’t change unless he changes it. Nothing new happens unless he does something new. Except for you. Except this. Tenko didn’t change the story. You did. “Who are you?” He says it like a villain, but he’s not a villain yet – just a little kid. You’re just a kid, too, and your voice wavers just like Tenko’s does. “Don’t do it,” you say, just like you did last time, and even though Tenko tries to grab you, you’re too fast for him to catch.            You escaped this time, but next time, Tenko will be ready. Playing this game forever is bad enough without you ruining his cheat code. It won’t happen again

😈 Is there anything you enjoy doing that you think your readers hate?

Slow burns and/or cliffhangers. I love a truly miserable cliffhanger, and I've done a fair number of them in my other fandom. Other than that, just really insanely long fics. I love writing them but they're an investment for readers and sometimes I worry people get bored.

🌙 What time of day do you prefer to write? Why?

I'll write whenever the opportunity arises! Today was a workday for me, but I wrote between appointments and on my lunch break, and I've written a few hundred words since I came home as well.

🌈 What inspired you to write [magnum opus ]?

magnum opus kind of came out of nowhere for me! I wanted to write a fic with a much darker interpretation of Shigaraki, and the idea of a no-quirks AU where he's an ideologically driven serial killer was very compelling. The question was where to bring the reader in. I didn't want to write her as a victim, but given that I pictured Shigaraki as a no-social-skills recluse whenever he's not out killing people, it was hard to imagine where they'd meet. AND THEN I remembered some Criminal Minds-type detail about how serial killers sometimes come back to visit their kills. Shigaraki as I imagined him would be too smart to do that, but he'd still want to see if his message was getting across, so I came up with the idea of him watching through a drone -- and how much more interesting of a dynamic it would be if he felt like the reader was watching him, too. Hence the forensic photography angle.

Thanks for giving me a chance to talk about that AU! I really love it and every so often I daydream about following up on it.

🤔 What is the hardest part of writing fic?

Editing. Not so much line-edits (I'm decent at those when I'm not typing too fast) but deciding what scenes actually need to be part of a fic, or which storylines are interesting to me but not benefiting the plot/characters. I don't like cutting anything, but sometimes it needs to be done.

🍰 Name one of your fave comfort fics (doesn’t have to be your all time fave).

My favorite one is from my other fandom! It's called a kiss in the cold and dark by @nocompromise-noregrets and it's one I return to multiple times per year when I need to read something peaceful.

Speed, Shadows & Hijinks — part 1

Day 1, here we go ! I present to you, the beginnings of this mess. These were a series of snippets I wrote last year when I was just getting into the Sonic series (and I got bored during tutorial periods and I wanted something to write lol). Believe it or not, it was Team Sonic Racing that got me here in the first place !! And, here, for the very first time, I'm revealing my one Sonic OC, Jinx the Kea (my little NZ gremlin, shit-for-brains birb). To put it briefly, Jinx is under the tutelage of the racer with the most vehicular expertise - you guessed it, Shadow. Needless to say, it's not going smoothly. At all. I'd hate to go without mentioning, although this is the first snippet written, it is certainly not chronologically first. But I'll clear all that up once we get to it because I'm lazy <3

Part 1 : Deflation

"Hey, Jinx, if your training with him is stressing you out — you know, you can always learn some driving tips from me. I can pull a few strings and transfer your mentorship, I'm sure they'll allow it if I try." It wasn't only Jinx that didn't understand Shadow's behaviour, evidently. Given that, they couldn't really give Sonic any real commitment to his proposition, and instead let off a bit of steam in the form of dismissal.

"Nah, it's just been a rough day, that's all. I appreciate the offer, though." Their head slumped onto the table, the steaming cup above them serving as a representation of their evaporating spirit. They downplayed the situation to the best of their ability, because it was owed. To Shadow or to themself, they weren't sure.

Not even a child could be fooled by their lies.

"How he's treating you isn't fair!" Amy pitched in. "You're doing your best, believe me, you're great on the track! You're not to blame, he is. He just needs a little more patience and he'd see how good of a racer you are!"

Since their arrival, Amy always had Jinx's six. Her surety and confidence in defending the newcomer was never unwelcome. Amy was good with people. There was an undeniable merit linked to the statement, where it was more fact than simple speculation. The words she exchanged with others were rarely misunderstood. She could pacify even the most wild of beasts — or become the thing she seeks to calm. It was either or with her, and there was some relief in knowing Jinx was on Amy's good side.

Jinx saw value in having Amy as an ally... or a friend. Her and Sonic both. Tails too. There was no animosity in their interactions with Jinx and that, they reckoned, was paving the road for potential friendships. What's obstructing your potential from becoming reality? They wondered exactly that. Shadow had cryptically asked that of them once. Different circumstances, consistent question. The answer was plain as day: spending all their time and energy on a serious mug who wanted nothing to do with them or the development of their skills.

As much as they hated it, there was validity to Shadow's criticism. He was nothing if not brutally honest.

"Thanks, Amy, but... maybe he's right. I'm slow, I hesitate; I don't trust myself to do the right thing. And every moment in that vehicle is a split second decision between life and death. Maybe I'm failing myself because my confidence dictates how I'm driving. Should I apologise to him for that?"

"No!" She was so adamant. Jinx admired that to an unfathomable degree. "He's a grump, his reactions are unkind. Just leave him. Tomorrow is a new day and he'll be over it by then, don't worry. I know Shadow, he doesn't hold a grudge unless it's important to him."

I've been thinking of the people saying the ineffable bureaucracy relationship timeline was too fast compared to ineffable husbands

But honestly I think a thing a lot of people are missing here is that relationships aren't really comparable and everyone as a different experience with them. Sometimes yeah, it all happens rather quickly (ex: high-school sweethearts that get married right after high school) and sometimes it's incredibly slow and takes more time than a fucking crockpot and a 450k slowburn.

Beelzebub and Gabriel haven't known eachother for as long as ineffable husbands has, doesn't mean their relationship isn't as valid and that they're immediately going to get sick of eachother the second the honeymoon phase wears off. Ineffable Bureaucracy might have happened rather quickly for celestials but.. as someone who's in a relationship with the love of my life

When you're with that person, it feels like time itself stops, that it's just you and them. While also feeling that there's not enough time in the world where you would be satisfied with their company.

I get people's frustration that ineffable bureaucracy worked out and ineffable husbands is still in that damn crockpot, but IB had always talked and communicated, Crowley and Aziraphale don't talk about anything. Even if IH would've gotten together in season 2, it would have resulted in nothing but heartbreak and things not working out because they never talk to eachother about how they're feeling. Neil recently confirmed that Aziraphale didn't know that Crowley was living in his car because Crowley didn't tell him. Aziraphale still thinks that Heaven is all sunshine and rainbows despite everything Crowley tries to say about it.

IH would be an absolute nightmare of a relationship at the moment, you'd have 2 people that won't communicate to literally save their lives. Nina and Maggie said it perfectly in the last episode, they never talk to eachother.

And I'm not saying that Gabriel and Beelzebub are perfect either, they both have their very fair share of flaws, Bee takes their anger out on the people around them, and Gabriel is a manipulative little shithead at times, but the reason they're the foil to Crowley and Aziraphale is because they're willing to work through it. At the end of the day they're side characters and not all their dates will be shown on screen. It would take a lot more than 6 episodes to show all of them; and just because we're only shown a small snippet doesn't mean that their relationship isn't valid or that they're undeserving of their happy ending

TLDR: Ineffable husbands aren't ready for a relationship mentally and lack the commutative skills for it, while Ineffable bureaucracy got together while being open and honest. IB is meant to be a foil and just because it was fast doesn't mean their relationship isn't valid or unfair
